another good day of snapping yesterday despite the crippling heat!
t'was a good show with a fantastic turn out and plenty of interesting motors to be seen
heres my pics, other PH'ers who were there too can feel free to drop their stuff here too
starting with the rougher side of the star exhibits,
purposeful looking Jacked up Chevy Rat Coupe
wandered into the exhibitors campsite to see what i could find and came across this, perhaps the rattiest rat rod ever?!
super spartan and rough looking cabin, but considering the heat yesterday this could well have been one of the most comfortabl cabins with that fan!
this would be my idea for a proper rod!!
a gig box for a boot and just check how low cut that roof is!
tight and close in there, not great for people of a claustrophoic or leggy disposition and that windscreen had more in common with the opening of a letter box, but still kinda IMO!
more soon....

Blimy it was a bit HOT !!! Cracking show though.
The only down side for me was the blattant disregard for the 'pre 1972 only' show car field. Spotted loads of cars clearly not of that era. If I had of known this I would have put the Vette in there instead of the public car pack, and saved myself a bit of money. Rant over !
I try and get some pictures up later.

sorry i missed you again Ian, there were people everywhere!
might have seen your C5 tho', did you park it at the front of the public car park just along from the tannoy tent by any chance?...
couple more rods,
very much liking the traditional Ford Coupe style rod like these nice examples
big edelbrock bits and large holley breathers like this were a common fitment i noticed, lots of noise and torque tho'!
interesting small hopped up pickup with a natty multi metallic flake finish paint job
loved this custom woody!
the big fat rolling wheel arches, the purple paint and the nicely varnished wood really set it off IMO!

carrying on,
this was nice, another Ford (?) based custom jobbie, love the eye for detail and creativity some of the owners of these cars appear to have!
finished in a nice off blue/green pearl hue, caught the sunlight really well over the flowing wings/bulges
who says a proper street rod has to have a stripped out agricultural esque cabin?! nice luxury fittings in here and an auto box, good for a nice cruise i bet
another fantastic looking completely custom machine!
big cubes be lurking in there...
this one looked very interesting, almost a period italian look about it...
anything but a delicate italian motor in here! big old shifter twinned to even bigger displacement under the bonnet i bet!

....
another tasty customised steed
very was this one IMO, the flames looked great!
bit more of the flame work detailing, can just see the motor in there too...
more shiny Edelbrock stuff!
the archetypal Rod, the Ford Hi Boy
these must be huge fun! modern engineering and engines yet still so old skool
all you need nothing more nothing less
more of the customised stuff on display in the main show next...

this forums a bit of a ghost town isn't it?!........
anyways,
this started out in life as a normal MK3 Zephyr Zodiac, but now after a bypass and some fettling it runs a potent 383 block!
a real sleeper...
mentalist Cougar, big old lump, but packs a whallop hence the Predator tag i s'pose!
this was luverly a real customised cruiser, would go down well on the "Westside" i should imagine!
another huge cruiser, interesting matt black finish, it must have a dark side too...
old skool muscle next methinks!....

It was a bummer this year with the Nats on the same day as the Rally of the Giants down the road at Knebworth, but as I could hitch a ride to Knebworth in my mates 1947 Plymouth Convertible, it was RoG for me.
Didn't take many pictures...
But this mint 57 Chevy ragtop was stunning.
But, I so would have liked to have driven home in this mildy 'kustomed' 1949 Caddy Sedanette, simply gorgeous l

quite right ^, some of the cars there certainly weren't "pretty" cars by a long shot! but the owners customisation and effort were the most alluring thing about them IMO
one last customised car,
this started out as a normal Rover P6 3500, a damn fine car in its own right IMO, but this one has undergone some substantial enhancements i think...
i saw a similar example at another Shuttleworth show earlier this year in matt black and running nigh on 7 litres so who knows...
some more familiar yank iron now,
a stunning looking original 70's Camaro, the best decade for 'em IMO, that muscle line along the side of the car gives it a real air of presence!
t'was another a few cars along!
super practical muscle is this 383 endowed El Camino, a very cool machine IMO
more muscle to come soon....

ok then, no worries!
check this!
was once a Hemi 'Cuda until some drag racers got a hold of it and gave it a new heart!
fully stripped out inside with full drag gear in and out too, incredible really!
always a fave on the Cool Classic Spotters Post are Challengers, this one was mint
one of THE classic 70's muscle icons and a fave of mine too!
there was a small selection of some really nice T-Birds there and this particular example caught my eye
i love small details like this!
a surprisingly capacious cabin that is!
with great period styling touches like this, i can let my artisitc side flow!
looking through my snaps theres actually a good few more prime examples to post, so i'll remember to come back!

ready for a bit of Pony?...
t'was a real little beauty this one!
a great choice of motor
taking in the classic 60's 'Stang profile for a peek into the office
a tasy looking fastback, love this shape too!
low slung with a big stick, the proper muscle car experience!
my purist fave, this 289 2+2 was achingly pretty and in superb all original condition as well!
a lovely pert and neat rear
wonderful!
i'll have a few more soon!
