By all accounts the 3L Oiler is best, basically the Merc common rail diesel engine.
However I would prefer the 6.1L SRT smile

as above really, unless you can afford the cost of petrol the CRD version is good smile

However if you can handle lhd, dont mind so much about petrol try the Dodge Magnum

Yep, I have one. Nice diesel engine. They all come fully loaded only options are the mygig system and sunroof. 2008 facelift makes a big improvement so I would buy new if you can. I get about 30-35mpg according to trip computer. The car is supreme on motorways, not really a b road car.

That's bloody expensive compared to 300C prices.

My brother has the petrol version.
the engine is unheard.
if i was going to buy, it would only be the diesel.
A real cruiser on the motorway, and should have fantastic mpg for such a relaxing driver.

Not sure if you saw Pulling Power recently comparing the 300 diesel estate with the Volvo estate, fully loaded. Now as you may be aware, I am a fan of American cars but fully loaded, the car was comedic and dipped and dived like a pogo stick and had trouble getting up a steep hill. By contrast, the Volvo took it all in it's stride, despite far less power. It was also far better handling and composed. So try before you buy.

I have a diesel version and it's an excellent car. 35 MPG and with a tuning box you'll see 0-60 times around 5.5 seconds, not bad for an oil burning 2 ton monster! Had mine for 12 months almost and no problems at all.
