4th Gen Camaro Exhaust Help wanted quick ?
Discussion
Can anyone supply me with a diagram/illustration and/or photos of how the twin exhaust is mounted on the back end of a 4th gen 1999/2000 Camaro.
Reason being I recently had a stainless steel exhaust system fitted, since that the rubbers have broken twice, it bumps off the underside, and the pipes seem to be hanging low too, I must add that it's a 3.8ltr model and had a single outlet pipe, it now has twin pipes with the old Z28 elongated rectangle end pipes fitted too.
the main silencer box is square and not elliptical like the old box this may account for the nocking but I feel that there may well be two brackets or hangers missing at the/or near the exhaust outlet pipes.
Now the fitters say that they are using the existing brackets and I think this is the problem as I said maybe two missing ?
I have done an internet search but have not seen anything.
Any help would be most appreciated thanks

It looks like there are just two hangers for the rear box and the exhaust pipes out.

Hi balls-out,pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/Jimbo.Arnold/Suff
Just got your info, looks good and different from mine, my cars hanging brackets are 1 cm round SSteel rods, this may account for the swing at the back of the pipes, I notice that on your Camaro the bracket is a strong thin bar and into a thick rubber mounting that is fixed to the car body.
My bracket hangs with oval rubbers ? and is much more flexy.
This could be the problem ? I have printed off the your photos.
A big thanks for all your trouble I really appreciate it and will let you know how I get on ASAP.
Cheers
