I pulled into a service station yesterday and ended up parked next to a current generation Mustang with a rather ellaborate bodykit on and GTR written on it.

Also wondered what, if anything, had been done underneath the spoiler and the blistered arches. Is it a factory tuning kit?

Oh hang on a minute, it's not secretly an MR2 underneath or something is it? paperbag

Last I heard, the GTR was still only a concept. I had a magazine a year or so ago which featured an article of tweaked Mustangs [Shelby, Saleen, Roush, etc] and they discussed the GTR in that.

edit:
Did it look anything like this one?

One of these?

I believe it's a Cervini bodykit. This particular one is supercharged. smile

Yep, looks like it. This one was blue with the obligatory racing stripes.

I presume that just replaces some of the panels on the original Mustang?

Forgotten just how big they are too. It looked a little over the top - awesome if it's harbouring a supercharged V8, a bit questionable if it's a six cylinder auto or something. smile

It has replacement front and rear bumpers. The hood scoop, side ducts, rear spoiler and side sills are all stuck onto the standard body.

Not my cuppa tea, but that's just one of the things I love about the Mustang, there's a style out there for everyone. smile

Yep - it did seem a tiny bit Max Power at first glance, but I suppose the flamboyance is justified if it's the real thing.
