hi new guy on pistonheads,does any one know how i can remove the cat onmy exhaust and stop the engine management lights from coming on??
the car is grnd cherokee jeep v8 2000model.

hi neil, ive done about everything u can - probably!!!!
20 inch antera rims in black.
eibach suspension
eibach sway bars / anti roll bars
borla exhaust
custom brakes by kad 378mm 6 pots.
paxton supercharger.

just ordered new headers by gibson,smaller pulley,new throttle body..
want as much power as i can get..cuerntly running about 400 bhp / 500 lbs torqe....

will it actually make any difference? with a lot of modern cars it doesn't, in fact the common opinion on stangnet is the V6 stangs go slower without them, due to the header / cylinder head design depending on a certain amount of back pressure to work..

some nice mods and great figures, sweet, i run a V8 jeep as well,
be nice to see some pics of the paxton

not sure if this helps but on the viper if the cats are removed you can add an '02 simms' that tricks the ECU into beleiving the cats are still in place
maybe there's something similar for the Jeep. What about Hi-flow cats instead?

Yep, GM ECU's you can just tell them not to check the rear O2 sensors. Basically they measure the efficiency of the cats and compare Lambda values pre and post cat. As Viper says if you put sims in that say its stoich (~450mv) then all is well.
