I am in need of a little assistance. One of my headlamp bulbs has blown. Thought that this was even within my capabilities so popped up to Dart Corvette today for a new bulb. Having returned home and removed the light unit I find that it is an all in one unit. Whilst the bulb I have bought is the correct size I have had to prise the old bulb off the lamp unit and now have no way of attaching the new bulb.

I have now ordered a complete new lamp unit from Rock Auto but need a bodge to tide me over until it arrives. So would it be OK to glue or mastic the new bulb onto the old headlamp unit? Sorry to ramble on but would be grateful for any advice. Thanks.
