Roadtrip along the West Coast of the US
Discussion
I was just going through some pics this morning of our trip last year from our shop (near Seattle) down to Los Angeles. We took the coastal highways for the entire trip. If you ever have a chance to do this, definitely do! Beautiful roads and amazing scenery the whole way.

more are on our site, with some comments about the drive down.

We did California roadtrips two years running a while back and they remain my all time favourite holidays.
1st year we started out in Vegas, the across to San Franciso, then down to LA. The following year we drove north from LA up to San Franciso and the over the bridge where the roads get more windy in places.
We had gorgeous weather, the roads were empty, the scenary stunning beyond belief. The people were very friendly and we had a drop top Mustang. What more do you need?
When we can afford it, and when my daughter is a bit older, we'll do it again. And again.

right inside of Northern California, where Hwy 1 splits off of 101, there is a 26 mile stretch of road that was some of the twistiest I have ever been on! No more than 1/4-1/3 mile before a tight corner. Posted speed limits down to 10mph. It was great! No traffic, and no police. It would be worth doing that trip again just for that stretch of road.
