any one no the fuel usage on these engines at flat chat as we are thinking of racing one next year but dont know which would be better on fuel .The ls2 would have a race cam 550bhp and the ls7 would be standerd 600bhp thanks

what uses more fuel a tuned ls2 or a standerd ls7

Too many factors go into this to make a simple answer to give good economy. The quality of the management system & mapping are No.1. Also it would have to be fully sequential fuel & spark with a good 3D ignition map & dual Lambdas.
That being said, it's still anyones guess.wink

600bhp? Doesn't a standard LS7 put out more like 500bhp?

with all the emissions cats etc taken off we have been told 600 ?

I think the ZO6 Corvette guys are getting about 575bhp from new exhaust/decat, modified intake & re-map.
Better to post this question on the Corvette forum to be honest, lots of modded Ls2 owners and a few Ls7 ones too.

LS7 has just over 500bhp not 600. Also the LS2 has now been discontinued and is replaced by the 430bhp LS3. As advised mapping will be the key to the economy

what ever produces the most power will use the most fuel.
