1955 Chevrolet Convertible
Discussion
We recently had one of our customers drop by with his 55 Chevy. He lives in central Oregon and had just gone to a car show east of seattle (400 mile round trip). It had rained on him for most of the weekend, but he was still having a great time with his car. It was really refreshing to see somebody with a classic car here in the States concerned about out driving their car rather than not getting it dirty.
It features a 550hp 7L V8, with a TH400 automatic and a Gear Vendors unit. The Gear Vendors for those not familiar basically splits every gear, turing the 3 speed auto into a 6 speed, usually with 1 or 2 overdrive gears. The owner told us that he has put more miles on this car this summer than his new Caddy CTS that is now collecting dust in his garage.
