buying advice - Dodge RAM, poss SRT-10
Discussion
They're very cheap in the US at the moment. Saw an orange 5.7 Daytona at $20000 on Auto Trader and the SRT10s are now down to reasonable money - around $30000.

The principal problem with either 8 or 10 cylinder is thirst. There's a guy over the back of me with a Rumblebee who gets about 11mpg and I hear the SRT10 can get under 10. I still fancy one though. they handle a lot better than the others and have proper road tyres. Have a look on YouTube for one drifting round a track to feed your desire!
If considering importing, the SVA is a breeze for commercials but they do attract 22% import duty.

Had both the 5.7 and still got the SRT. Both UK supplied
The 5.7 is much softer on the suspenders and sits higher. Doesn't corner as well as the SRT but is much more comfortable and doesn't suffer the hopping about on the rear end which can be frightening.
The SRT is simply the Mother and not much worse on the juice. I get 13 MPG on the school runs but can get MUCH worse when driven enthusiastically.
Buy a UK Supplied car with all the waranties and cheaper than the imports. You cannot beat having the UK dealer network as a support.
These things cost minimal in service costs too.

ive had the srt in manual short cab and auto double.....fantastic trucks dont think you'll be sorry you bought one!able to give some serious competition to many fast cars.....acording to evo's fast car test it went faster 0-100-0 than a caynne turbo and was quicker round the track than a clio trophy!
Thanks for your comments. I've seen a new silver 5.7 quad laramie Uk spec for sale via a Dodge dealer which I'm going to see this afternoon, but if you have any similar for sale I would appreciate it if you send the details to me, I'm based in Essex.
I'm liking the fact that the 5.7 has the switchable 2/4WD and has the softer ride, like has been said the SRT now seems overkill and the 6 seats is important to me.
