Just had my new exhaust delivered. Thanks Keith!

Being fitted tomorrow. It is a Borla stainless steel adjustable system.

Thing is...should I go for very quiet, quiet, middle of the road, loud or even louder?

Personally I like em loud when you nail it but on a cruise I think that if they're permanently loud it gets a bit too much.

All fitted and it looks great. Wimped out and only went for the second noisiest option (I do use it for work). Sounds fantastic!!! Very pleased.

Yes just right I think. Still often set off car alarms in car parks hehe. Did you ever sell the Trans Am?

Again for aesthetics, it's best to have a certain amount of restriction as then both sets of tail-pipes emit noise and "debris" on kick-down and first start-up... Would look weired all coming out of one side

As for selling the tranny, neither of mine are up for sale ? Something I should know

(goes and checks garage eek)

Sorry, must be my mistake. There was a convertible Trans Am for sale on here a couple of months ago being sold by someone with a very similar user name to yours. My apologies

Very nice indeed... "looks" like a pricy exhaust so not even gonna ask for an approx how much..

Makes me soo eager to get my car back... need to organise a Yank car cruise or tunnelrun biggrin

How loud is the exhaust when pootling around town locally/off throttle?

Any complaints from neighbours?? biggrin

Mine cost about £800 all in. No complaints from neighnours but I don't have many. I do set the odd car alarm off in car parks though

First and foremost - bollox to the neighbours !

It took a while for me to actually like the sound, I'm used to the old-school V8 low burble, the borla is higher pitched but WOT (wide open throttle) sounds more "super-car" than V8 Yank. Lots of noise on throttle and engine braking, pretty sedate on tick-over and cruising... My '79 T/A was a 469ci with dual straight through's (that was loud even without the engine running ;-) )

Yes it does make quite a different noise, as you say less burbly. However I really like the sound especially when coming off the throttle and listening to the crackles and pops. Maybe the burble would return if a more resticted setting were used? I am going to keep mine just as it is. I do sometimes have to hide the car round the corner when visiting clients though.
