You still cant beat the original for me they will always be the best. Then i might not best to judge.
Nope, but bear this in mind......the Vauxhall VXR8 is around £36k, the Corvette C6 between £36-40k. I can't see it coming in any cheaper than the VXR8 as the Camaro is better looking and, I guess, more desirable as it's a coupe.
I reckon it'll be sold alongside the Corvette at the likes of Stratstones.
Either way, it's a stunner and I can't wait to see it in the metal.

Right, I'm not paying Vette money for a Camaro.
Anyone know the list price for the US domestic market?
Why not? The Camaro will offer the same 400bhp V8 and the option of rear seats. It's arguably better looking (definately better looking in my book).Anyone know the list price for the US domestic market?
I'd bet on the V8 Camaro coming in at around $28-30k.....so you may get LHD imports for around the same, but in Sterling.
Either way, there's not much else on the market to offer some much BHP/£
I heard on the grape vine its going to be priced along the lines of the Mustang, which will mean a $20k base model while adding $10K for a nice big V8 and some extra toys. Amazing bargain if its true, problem is, Alfa Romeo is also coming to the states in 2009 (or so I have heard), so its going to be a very tough choice for car shopping that year....hmmmm

I agree GM are unlikely to allow the Camaro to be faster than the Corvette, even if we're only talking 1/10ths of a second etc.
However, "rewarding" means different things to different strokes. It may not reward in a feedback through the seat of the pants way like the Corvette, but, with same throbbing V8 it offers a stunning body and room for those that may require to carry more than one passenger.
I love the Corvette, but I love this new Camaro more.
Still, each to their own

The boys in Bowling Green made Cadillac limit the H.P. in the XLRs and CTS-V because they were going to be faster than the Vette..However, "rewarding" means different things to different strokes. The old LS1 engines were basically the same C5 to 4th Gen. The LS6 changed that. I suspect the LS3 engine will find its way in (hopefully). The Z06 is the differentiator afterall. Looking forward to owning one here too.
Got some US$ in the bank waiting. Release date is Q1-09 with production starting Q4 08.
