Looking at a Ram at the moment but everyone I've called so far is insisting on 12 months LHD experience. Who are you covered by?

Had the same when I was insuring a LHD for the first time earlier this year. I’ve driven hundreds of them tens of thousands of miles, for work, for decades…

And have you driven a v8 before etc. Yes, lots, but it’s got 160bhp if it’s lucky FFS.

Anyway Classicline covered me for a reasonable sum, hopefully it’ll drop a fair few quid next year.

I rang Adrian Flux today for a quote on an F150, never mention LHD experience with offered price.

I have my Saleen insured with A Flux, years ago when I wanted to add my then partner they asked if she had LHD experiance, she didn't so they woldn't add her to my policy, might have changed now though

Maybe they’ve changed, iv never used them before but I added my partner also and no mention for LHD experience with either of us.

They'll do me for £875 which I don't think is awful. I rang them almost as a joke, since they wanted something like 3 grand for my Volvo last year!

I have my 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche (5.3 litres, 295bhp) insured through Howden Specialist Motor Insurance. LPG converted and an upgraded stereo all declared. £285 pa limited to 5000 miles for both myself and my wife (although she has never driven it and probably never will!). They never asked anything about LHD experience.

However, I am in the 'sweet spot' for insurance premiums being 65 years old and retired.

I've been with them since I bought it in 2023 and cannot fault them at all.

Conversely, about twenty years ago I had a Classic Range Rover insured with Adrian Flux and would not go back to them again.

I'm with KGM, they never asked about LHD experience, and were way cheaper than Flux.

Pretty much all the insurance companies that deal with imports insist with LHD experience and V8/similar BHP experience these days. It’s stopped so many people buying on the import owners pages judging by the posts.
