Hi there. thumbup What's the story behind "convert to naturally aspirated"?

Ready to be corrected if wrong, but were the 6.4s ever anything but naturally aspirated? Has this one had forced induction added somewhere and the OP wants to go back to stock, albeit without the MDS?

Thinking of getting better performance and sound.
Just planning stage at the moment. I think I need to work out what systems to use and research the benefits. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just goes to show what a novice I am.
Now I think of what you have posted, it's is factory stock and naturally aspirated.
What I really meant was to remove the fuel injection and put twin carburettors on it.
Anu suggestions would be appreciated.

Any suggestions on service and maintenance Manuals I need would also be appreciated.

You're right. The 6.4 units were all naturally aspirated.

As you've asked for suggestions, I'll suggest that you:

1) Keep the fuel injection. This can be tuned precisely in ways that no carburettor setup can achieve. The result will be more power, cleaner combustion, and safer operation.

2) Get active on one of the forums that specialise in Challenger and Mopar. They've "seen it all before". They even speak a kind of English wink . The wealth of knowledge in those communities will give you all the information and camaraderie you'd like.

Depending on where you are, try William Bros Speed Shop near Towcester:

https://williamsbrosspeedshop.co.uk/

They do weekly orders from the States.

Thanks so much.
My education has started!
Bought Work Bench book on How to Rebuild HEMI Engines by Larry Shepard. Fascinating...
At the moment I don't understand some of the components and assemblies mentioned. Lots of YouTube to watch along with this book should cure that.

Respectfully, you are bonkers.

Apache engine is designed to utilize EFI. The electronic controls that depend on signals from EFI sensors would have to be bypassed (that includes the transmission). It's a bit of a silly idea.

You got it right.
I was bonkers until I got some Sage Advice from you guys.

I am a control systems engineer and fully get what you mean.

I guess my ego got the better of me, assuming Carbs were better with partial knowledge.

Respect to you guys.

Newbie, novice. My education has only just started.
Thank you

You could try some Dodge dealers in the UK:
Unity Automotive in Oxford
Luna Customs.

Could also try Jeep dealers in the UK as they have cars fitted with the same 6.4 engine.

Except that they'd just laugh at you. Why would you even attempt it. It is akin to converting your microwave oven to run on steam power.

Seriously, do not even try this. I had to get Trading Standards onto them to start getting issues resolved with a new Challenger Jailbreak I bought from them last year. So far, Trading Standards have managed to secure a refund for the non existent ceramic coating that Unity were paid to do. Still working on the replacement of the faulty section of Active Exhaust and radio head unit. They cannot even sell new vehicles properly, let alone deal with anything slightly technical.
