Valve Cover T-Bolts?

Are these just for fun/show, or do they do anything a 'normal' screw doesn't?

The theory is they’re easy to remove. I just think they’re nasty.

Well I assumed they'd be easy to remove.

But who needs quick or frequent access?

Racers. But the thing is if you’re pulling the valve covers after every run down the drag strip you’re probably going to need a spanner for something else anyway.

And these days racers will likely just use cordless tools for speed anyway, so T bolts have been pretty much relegated to 'fake show' rather than 'go'....and are thus considered a bit 'naff'.....unless you are building or own a period 'hot rod' and you want that period look from when they were racer tech.

I thought it was for street racers who would be setting the valve lash for their solid lifter cam every Saturday afternoon, prior to a night of stoplight to stoplight racing.
