Having a dream about new cara for my 40th next year and I’ve seen you can get a freshly landed corvette C6 for C.£15k from some Accrington based importers.
The next step would be the modifications and registration for driving on UK roads. What does that involve, just lights and some DVLA form filling? Haven’t found any particularly clear costs online but would be interested to know if it’s £1k, £5k etc?

I would never buy a car from anywhere Accrington related! 99% of their stuff has been written off repaird/crashed repaired, they move premises in & around the Acrington area a lot and most if not all of the cars are from Dubai or that area so no easy way of getting any history on the vehicle!
A chap in a Mustang group I use made the mistake ofbuying from them and had the car inspected as he was having so many problems with it, turned out it was about 3 different cars rolled into one! eek
They are all cheap for a reason and all the adverts say none of them are registered so you will be the first owner, there is a reason or this also wink

And this is why I love PH, cheers both!

The vehicles are all cheaper than anywhere else but I assumed (and we know what happened when you do that…) it was just because they were all unregistered. Obviously I’ll sack that idea off and wander off thankfully.

Yeah liberty cars, and I think the other is church trade or something

They import loads of unregistered rubbish with horrendous body kits

Avoid at all costs.

It's it's too good to be true price wise it probably is!

I have seen many 'iffy' late model C5's, 6's and 7's come on the market in the UK over the last few years. As a former committee meber for the CCCUK I believed it was part of my duty to warn people who possibly new to the American car market the potential pitfalls of buying mis-represented cars like these. Corvettes and any American cars are (for an average wealthy Dubai resident) of little value generalising. They are being used in extremely hot, dusty and sandy conditions. They are unlikely to have had the same levels of care that a UK or USA based car will have. Vehicles first sold in the USA cn be easily checked for accident damage or salvage titles. I warned members of several Vettes for sale in the UK that were originally USA write-offs and were being sold here with no mention of their dodgy title. You won't even get that with an ex-Dubai vehicle. Buy a car from a long term CCCUK member - it'll have a history and will stand a far better chance of being looked after properly.

Unlike those used in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas biggrin
This was us a few days ago, and it's not uncommon.

Nothing wrong with buying a car from dubai, I've lived there 15 years and plenty of people maintain the cars

Don't buy a usa import cat from dubai most of those are accident damaged

I'm importing my c6z06 which I have had for 7 years over there shortly and will be bringing a couple of other cars across with me to sell this side because there are some really good bargains and with dubai being quite a transient place people do off load cars to exit.

Avoid anything from sharjah or ajman and just get it approved via the agencies in dubai it's becoming alot harder now for people over there to get away with welding 3 cars together.

If you want any help or want to share a container I'll be sending it in 2 months
