Fairly new to the scene, I know there are a few national events, but is there anything informal - regional pub meets etc on a monthly basis?

I was just enquiring in general really, didn't know if there was a social events forum on here that I'd missed.

For the record, I'm in Lincs, near Peterborough. Anything American, classic, out of the ordinary really. Have an 87 Chevy El Camino myself.

Good luck with that - I posted a similar request 2 years ago when I got my camaro, Joined aac. was sent a few emails regarding local meets, I went to 2 - no-one else turned up maybe because it wasn't sunny??
During this summer went to a few classic shows where there were plenty of well polished yanks, talking to the owners it became apparent they never went/attended if there was any sign of inclement weather, and as for going for a drive - forget it they wern't interested. I live in mid wales - if you make it over this far west I'd be happy to meet up for a beer and or a drive

Hey, I'm from Spalding so can't be far from you. There are a few smaller, informal meets that go on around here but mostly in the summer. Must admit I didn't bother last summer, just enjoyed driving my cars.

I find Facebook the best option for this.

The-Great-North-Road-Vintage-and-Classic-Vehicle-Gathering used to do winter meets on Sunday mornings at Stibbington Dinner on the A1. Was always a good turn out, not sure if that still happens.

I've put 1000 miles on my El Camino since I got it on the road last month, and the weather has been atrocious. I bought it to enjoy, not gather dust! I'll certainly give you a shout if I'm ever over in the wild west!
