We spotted this classic American car from the fifties in Lanzarote last month. It was in showroom condition but unfortunately there was no badging or name anywhere on the car so we didn't have a clue what it was.

Does anyone know what it might be?

I think 1954 Buick Roadmaster Riviera. I believe the other models had only 3 portholes.

4 "Cruiser-Line Ventiports" in the wings suggest this is a 1954 Roadmaster. The lesser models (Super, Special. etc) with the similar bodies only had 3 ports.

In the 1955 lineup (above) the Special (264 CID V8) featured three holes in each front fender, while the Century, Super, and Roadmaster (322 CID V8) boasted four per side.

What i call my first proper 50's fins and chrome yank was a 55 Roadmaster ,similar colour to the above ,

Was so excited but it broke down as i went through the farm gate where it was stored just as the the guy i bought it from

disappeared down the road , managed to nurse it home with my heart in my mouth telling myself it's all part of the fun

of owning these dinosaurs,rolleyes

If that didn't give me a indication of what was to come over the next 35 years nothing was,

Funny enough the next Buick was a 54, a poverty strickened Special convertible, ended up owning it twice.
