Rule of thumb is convert $ to £ and that will be your approx cost (so £30k landed)

Google says rate is 1.42 currently. So lets use 1.4, that means the car is £21,428. Call it £21,500.

duty is 10% IIRC and then vat on top, so £27,720.

However there is a special reduction you can get that removes duty and makes VAT 5% see https://www.kingstown-shipping.co.uk/hmrc

That would mean a cost of £22k.

note shipping not included in the above numbers.

Kingstown have been int he game years, it'd be worth a chat with them.

My numbers and calcs might be a smidge out but this list at least gives you an idea of everything you need to consider / pay for.

You're roughly looking at 26k right now, but depends where it is / how far it needs to be transported to docks / which port it leaves from / who you use once it gets here.

You seem to have missed out costs for light conversion to be UK legal

Some people do, some don’t.

Personally I’d swap headlamps and leave the rest.

Could be another 500 plus to get the lighting fully changed but on an mot exempt car it’s not essential, shall we say.

For a 72 You'd need headlights, amber indicators, and, a foglight to make it road legal

For shipping you're looking at about £2k from East Coast, more from West Coast.

$30k purchase price you're looking at a little over 1k in VAT and no import duty.

That's in a shared container, you might find quicker/cheaper RoRo depending on if the car is near to a popular enough port.

If you want to fly it over, you're looking at £5k+
