Hi,

Can anyone suggest places to rebuild SBCs?

My IROC decided to spit out it's rear main seal last week (second drive of the year rolleyes) and the first I realised was when I heard the engine starting to knock.

I'm in touch with D&A Autos in Thanet, and I'm aware of Redline in Rochester and Roadcraft in Hove, but have I missed anyone?

There used to be someone near to me in Newchurch, but they seem to have disappeared. I don't have the time, space or equipment to pull the engine myself, so it'll have to be transported - someone as close as possible would be best!

Cheers,

Perhaps time to consider other options? - balance up the cost of a re-build against a new crate engine from someone like Real Steel or Roadcraft and get yourself a little more 'go' ?

Anyone competent rebuilder should be able to rebuild a small block chevy. Look for someone that does rebuilds on Rover V8's and they will be able to help you.

383 'strokers' are very popular (and for very good reason.......)

Roadcraft sell Blueprint crate engines, so they would be my port of call.

You could get a 383 short block from them for what a straight rebuild of your 350 would cost - or go the whole hog and buy a full Blueprint 383 stroker crate engine.
