02 or 05 in the VIN denotes whether Mach 1 Body or Sportsroof - this one is the Sportsroof, as you correctly spotted, optioned with the "m" which denotes the 351C 4BBl ..F, H, M, R, Q is the engine options. In the 05 the firewall is different to accept the big 429. I could change the grille - but I actually prefer this one ..it harks back to the 67/68 look.

First saw one nearly 50 years ago at the pictures, and fell in love with it.

1so-static,
The 351C is a great engine. Tons of extra horsepower available if so desired and magnificent sound. I have a 500hp 351C in my '72 Pantera (as did all Panteras have 351Cs), and the sound is absolutely ferocious. Beautiful car!
I love the Pantera .. one of my all time favorites - styled by Tom Tjaada wasnt it? ...351C is my favorite engine to rebuild, canted valves - bigger heads, lots of cam options ... like fixing an old clock, it's so dependable. Yeah, that's when Brentacre had him for two days - he's done a lot of shows.
I'm seeking other UK owners to come together for this style's 50th Anniversary next year... assuming all becomes normal again
Thought it might be the same car I'm seeking other UK owners to come together for this style's 50th Anniversary next year... assuming all becomes normal again

Back in the early '90s I used to see a yellow one in daily use around town, it stood out like the proverbial sore thumb, both visually and aurally - a fantastic car and a very welcome sight. The guy who owned it had previously only had Minis but rolled his last one and decided he wanted something 'a bit more substantiual' instead!
