Ok, so....03 KJ jeep diesel. 2.8. Wont start when hot. When running, goes like a train, runs smooth and quiet...no issues there. 120k on clock, bought for peanuts 8 month ago. 9 month ticket no advisories, 500 quid from old guy up the road who I know well.
Changed everything I can think of eg crank, cam sensors, fuel pressure switches (common rail and pump) fuel pump (mechanical) (never again!! 🤪. Also new fuel lines, injector set and leak offs replaced.
Now, I have noticed some %$#% end has replaced the original fuel filter housing with what looks like an old Ford one, but that said, this issue only started a month back after cracking on near 500 or so miles a week over the time.
Have seen some advice as to fitting an in line electrical HP pump. Any ideas if this would help? If so, do I have to bypass the mechanical pump?
Wits end now and have trawled the forums everywhere, followed all the advice I can apart from above. So yup, I know the info is out there, but the I fo gleaned and followed hasn't worked.

No idea on a Jeep specifically but other cars (911s) can suffer hot starting problems due to the increase in resistance in the starter cables, there is a notorious 'Y' cable on a 996 which breaks down over time with heat and exposure to moisture and salt etc and usually makes itself known when after a long journey and then a fuel stop refuses to start again until it's cooled down a bit.
