Cheap and nasty things.
One dealer did a BOGOF on new ones as nobody wanted them.
Look quite nice and lots of kit, so probably an OK purchase if stupidly cheap.
All of us dealers did that offer as the import concessionare wanted to get rid of the three year old unsold stock before the type approval ran out and they became obsolete. One dealer did a BOGOF on new ones as nobody wanted them.

Avenger isn't as well specced as the Chrysler Sebring but looks better.
All built on the same platform of Avenger/Sebring/Compass/Patriot/Caliber.
2.0 petrol is ok. The 2.4 had a fuzzy logic CVT which was ok.
The diesel was the old VW lump.
They were cheap new, and should be cheaper now compared to equivalent cars of age and mileage.

We had one on a rental fleet. No one wanted it. Everyone who got it complained.
Utter utter ste.
£1400? I wouldn’t pay £1.40.
I spoke to the guy who has looked after all of my cars over the last 15/16 years.Utter utter ste.
£1400? I wouldn’t pay £1.40.
Told him what I was thinking of buying.
He put his coffee cup down. Smiled. And said ‘if you buy it who will look after it because I sure as fk won’t touch it or even have it my garage!!!’
He basically said that it was a pile of st & that I should not, under any circumstances, buy it.
So I haven’t. Got my deposit back as well.
I’ve never had the avenger but I did have a Sebring which is the same thing. I needed a cheap second motor so bought a 2.4 petrol Auto and ended up keeping it four years.
I don’t think I spend a penny on it in the four years I had it and I only parted with it in January this year after someone crashed into it while it was parked. Spec was good considering what it was and it drove well plus everything in it worked. I could leave it parked up for weeks including through the bad snow two years ago and always started so it was very reliable.
Yes, I would buy another if I needed another cheap motor
