Finally got my arse in to gear and have been looking at some tanks
Anybody know of this monte carlo for sale, i looked at it yesterday and it looks in good order. I'm heading back to the dealer on Wednesday for another look over and test drive.
Any tips on what to look for on this era of yank tank
Regards Simon

Looks very heavily modified and is more of a resto-mod version, but if you're OK with that then the price looks OK. Original style average conditions ones of these are selling now in the states for $10-15K.
Here's a good link to an overview of these Monte Carlos and things to know and look for. Typical 80s car stuff about rust, cracking dash panels, etc.

Personally that place that's selling it seems to deal in drastically different types of cars which might worry me a bit. Wondering why or how they got this one and if they'd even know the first thing about it or if they're just trying to get it out the door.
Had a friend who had an 85 Monte Carlo SS when we were 16 and I briefly considered one as my first car in the 1990s, but went with a 1969 Chevrolet Impala. It was a fun cruising car, especially if they have the T-tops. Standard Chevy V8 is very easy to make quick with a few cheap bolt-ons.
