Anyone own or tried a Hummer?

I'm going through one of these 'want one of those' phases with the Hummer.
I would be using it mainly for shops and going to work. Am I deluding myself with having one of these on British roads?
What are they like to drive?
Are they reasonably comfortable to drive and easy to get with RHD?

I’ve not personally own any of them. But have an interest in them. They hold their money well and are pretty rare.
The Hummer H1 is the civilian version of the HMMWV, usually called “HumVee”
These are purpose built military vehicles and as such refinement and normal road practicality are not a major concern. They are incredibly tough and rugged and in the right environment superb off road. The H1 has sound proofing and a nicer interior and air con. Where as the Humvee is very basic.
Think very much Land Rover Defender. Just several rungs up. They are also wide. This is done so they run in the same wheel tracks as larger military trucks.
Very very cool. But likely hugely impractical in the UK unless you are dedicated to running one. They will be slow and relatively poor mpg.
The H2 and H3 are both built on GM platforms and are designed and built as production road vehicles. This makes them completely different to the H1. And I don’t think they share any parts either.
The H2 is a full size SUV. It is big, just like the other full size SUV’s you get in the USA. i.e. a size up from a Range Rover. The H2 is full of charm and is likely a complete hoot to own and a real statement.
The H3 is the smallest and cheapest offering. And arguably the least bespoke. It is more “Discovery” sized. What would be called a mid size SUV. And directly competed with vehicles like the Toyota FJ Cruiser (which is also very cool). The H3 should be as easy to live with as a Discovery and just as practical.
Some would claim the H2 and H3 are more show than go. Or more substance over style. And in a way they are. But they are both very capable 4x4’s and very good vehicles. That just happen to have something extra in the styling department.

I had an M998 which is the military version of the H1 which I bought from the US Army. It had the 6.5 diesel engine without the turbo and needed new heads and a water pump. First drive and I decided that i did not want it. To big, too loud , too heavy and felt like the diffs were going to blow up at 40mph (It's an Army truck so very short gearing)
