Basic iva test guidance, Chevrolet El Camino
Discussion
Hi folks,
It’s been a while since I was on pistonheads, when I sold my tvr i didn’t have much to read about and drifted away.
Anyhow, next week I’ll finally get my hands on my freshly imported 1966 El Camino after it spending 4 months making its way here from Washington state.
It’s been a slow, long wait but now it’s time to get down to planning to get it ready for registration. Most of it seems easy enough like swapping reverse lights to indicators but I’m struggling to find anything that catches my eye for a rear fog light.
Has anyone got any suggestions for something pretty I can install?
Also any help regarding the iva test is welcome and any advice on what to expect with the car is also welcomed as well!
Thanks,
Russell

In that case you must be happy.
I just registered my ‘69 without so much as an mot test.
Call the DVLA for the correct forms.

Sounds promising, I’m just filling out the registration form and a fair bit of it refers back to the certificate of conformity or iva or msva certificate, I have none of these. I just registered my ‘69 without so much as an mot test.

Do you have to fill all the boxes out?
Just an update for anyone for everyone that replied or for anyone that looks in the future, it was very easy to register it in the end.
I filled out everything I could on the form but didn’t put a lot in, they’ve put it all on the V5 and it took about 2 weeks to arrive.
First drive was pretty special, the car had been laid up for a few years and I could feel it coming back to life and clearing out and getting stronger as I went on further.
New suspension and brake upgrades have arrived, looking forward to fitting it and getting out in the road and enjoying my Elco.
