Hey everyone, I've got the idea in my head that if i can get my hands on a rolling shell of a 60's ers muscle car I csn use it as a project car tp ha e some fun with. Does anyone know of a dealer they wpukd recommend or heard of anyobe doibg something similar? I can't seem to find what i want and i also would like to know how the best way to get one to the uk.
Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

I’m not an expert on this, but I have experience with shipping.
Shipping is easy. Choose a freight forwarder, advise them of the pickup address and destination. You’ll have truck fees in the US, port fees, sailing fees on the vessel and then you’ll have import duty, vat and port handling in the uk, and finally your truck fees to your end point. All that is easily handleable by your shipper. I’d recommend you get an external quote for marine transit insurance as the shippers normally have a party with individual FCL premiums.
In terms of the car itself, you can plonk whatever you like in your container. The issue you have is what your intentions are when you come to build the car. If it’s a track car then clearly you don’t need anything for the DVLA. If it’s a road car then if you’re building it from an old shell and combining new/old bits you’ll almost certainly end up with a “Q” plate after you get the car inspected and certified for road use. If you want the car on an age related plate you’ll want to import a “car” for restoration with registration documents that you can use with DVLA to show that the finished vehicle is basically the same vehicle as originally produced but just restored.
I’m sure someone will be along with more detail but I think that’s fairly close.

Ah great. Do you know how it works eoth using a shell from abrpad and registering that to my name?
Unless its roadworthy, you won't be able to get it registered. So, you need to have a firm idea of what route and direction this 'project' will take, as you'll likely be having to build it with BIVA regs in mind and all that entails, to be able to get it registered when finished.
