Supercharging 6.4 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
Discussion
Hi all,
I am hopefully picking up my 2nd SRT this week and I am looking at getting it supercharged. I was wondering if any of you out there have done this?
There seems to be a few different kits around on offer, all coming complete with everything needed to get it in and running.
I am in Australia and the options here seem to be:
http://www.prospeedracing.com.au/products/procharg...
http://www.hp-f.com.au/jeep/jeep-performance/jeep-...
http://store.yellaterra.com.au/2012-2016-jeep-srt-...
Can anyone out there offer any advice on other options or things to consider?

Make sure that the product you choose has lots of tuner back up, the kits are all pretty much the same quality but if you read up on the internet the tuning of the software is the critical part. There are several internet stories of engine blow ups due to poor tuning causing overheating.
Like you, I live in a hot environment and spoke to the Ripp supercharger agent here, I wasn't convinced the support was adequate to proceed.

The bottom two kits look like Whipple kits. The top one is a procharger. Best off researching them first so you understand the differences. Would also be nice to understand what the above companies are offering over and above the kit. Are they offering a specific tune or and install etc.

IIRC there are plans for an official Grand Cherokee SRT8 with supercharger, probably named Hellcat. Why not wait for one of them?
Agreed. Go for the jeep Trackhawk. Due out end of this year I believe. $95,000 for a decent speck so around £95K here all in I guess. You get the fullfat Hellcat motorI had a contract down on one, but the updated price for Australia for the Trackhawk is around $150,000.
I just paid $65000 for one with 25000km, so spending another $20,000 gets me a car that will be just as quick at almost half to price.
Yes it won't be the same. But 0-100 times will be very close.
