Have fancied a Yank for years.
Used to go to Wheels Day.
Now, I have one.

A '63 Rambler Ambassador 990.
All original.
65,000 miles.
5.4 V8.
Right hand drive. UK car from new.

Am I mad?

AMC went out of business 30 years ago.
Parts are 5,000 miles away.
Little UK knowledge.
My main classic this coming year.
Would hope to do 4,000 miles - not just a weekend potterer.

Yes you are..quite Mad in fact... but if you drove a boring electric car or some crappy hybrid you would be.....totally insane!

I drive a V8 from the land of OZ, and believe me you have to be certifiable to own one of those!

Do you have any plans for it? I'd be thinking about updating to electronic ignition at least if you're looking at lots of miles. Rock auto are pretty quick for parts if you can't find what you need here.

Been using Galvin.
The shipping and the exchange rate are real killers.

Mind you, I just sold a Silver Shadow I ran for two years. That was a killer too, in other ways.

Electronic, yes had thought of Lumenition if they do a kit. First thing I want to look at is the vacuum wipers. Car was quite advanced in some ways, but the wipers weren't one of them.
