Challenger Hellcat quicker than an Aventador SV
Discussion
I did a speed day at RAF Woodbridge last Sunday.
1.3 miles of runway to the speed beacon.
Challenging to launch the Cat on a concrete runway.
In truth the first time I have seriously tried to launch the Cat.
Tried launching in both first and second but made no difference.
No burnouts permitted.
Everything in front was running big HP.
The GTR's were 850hp.
The M3 was supercharged with over 600bhp.
Fastest stock car out there.

I suspect the torque will have a lot to do with it. Hellcat 650, Lambo only just over 500. Remember the Top Gear drag race between Diablo and Aston V8 twin supercharged? Aston nailed it every time despite the theoretical advantage of the Diablo. Torque wins every time. Supercharged gives lots of torque all the time compared with N/A.
Challenger hellcat figures
1/4 mile - 11.7 average
0-60 - 3.6 seconds
0-150mph - 17 seconds
Aventador SV figures
1/4 mile - 10.5 average
0-60 mph - 2.6 seconds
0-150 mph - 13.1 seconds
Even with that huge amount of torque the hellcat is 367 kg heavier and not very aerodynamic, look at the difference in 0-150 mph the aventador would be well ahead

On paper I agree. But the speed beacon at the end of the runway does not lie and that is all that matters. Sometimes it just boils down to the nut behind the wheel
So therefore if I had a fiesta, I could then say when I over take a Hellcat on the motorway that my car is quicker, after all it just boils down to the nut behind the wheel.Hellcat on paper is massively quicker, but it's the fact I overtook and thats all that matters.

I guess you struggled to comprehend my post.Hellcat on paper is massively quicker, but it's the fact I overtook and thats all that matters.
2 miles of runway.
Speed beacon set 1.3 miles along the runway.
Two cars run at a time.
The idea is to see how fast you can get your car to go and your speed is recorded for you by a speed beacon.
You have to manage the traction in the Hellcat as it is only rear wheel drive.
Same as the M3, M5, M6, C63 and all rwd cars.
Gallardo, Aventadors, Porsche Turbo, GTR's etc are all 4 wheel drive so traction is not an issue.
Then the very nice organisers kindly list the top speeds achieved by all of the cars on the day.
Why would you attend such a day if you did not want to go fast.
You could argue that both the Aventador drivers bottled it and braked before the speed beacon.
I chatted with the Gallaro chap and he was trying as hard as anyone else out there I spoke to.

I'd like to see that Rick, although you might need some taller gearing for those sort of speeds, I don't know if I'd want to be taking a farm truck up to 200 mph!
They do at the Texas Mile. Well almost.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhvNJnmpR4M
I would love to do another one of these days, I took my 13" gt500 with 800 bhp to vmax and speedo read 200 trap was 195. I was running out of runway on breaking and I'm sure the car would have kept going as I was only in 5th gear not even at the red line.
I would take the viper and unbolt my rear wing as I'm certain it could get the magic 200, hit 180 on autobahn in July with it being at 5000 rpm in 5th. Just too much downforce at that speed on the wing, wouldn't pull any more.
