I've been looking through yank motors as I fancy a modern v8 car with naturally aspirated engine and have come across this

which, thanks to google, looks like the same car as this

So unless the private sale was a dodgy one with issues what sort of magic does one apply to pull that off?

It's probably a sor arrangement so dealer cut 5-6k and a 2-3k flexibility on asking so yeah. Owner would get the same amount either way so can afford to drop the asking for private sale.

Could be either SOR as mentioned, or the private seller has sold it to the dealer when he reduced the price so much but hasn't removed the PH advert.

Just in my experience with import cars if a dealer is willing to buy the car it will be a ridiculous offer well below the asking price they would put the car for. Simply because they are not used to selling these cars and have no idea of the market.
