Bit of a beast that.

Hopefully in a position to look seriously at these in a month or so, got to be Hemi Orange for me, and preferably the SRT8, but looking about, I don't fancy my chances.

Well tread carefully. Not all sellers tell you what they`re selling. That one is out.

Great advice. Started looking at a few in Germany on the web, would double check history before committing.

Someone's going to get royally pumped on that one then.

I've had salvage title vehicles from flood damage that have never been right.

But a certificate of destruction? That's going to have all sorts of problems, forever.

Reply from seller:

"Hello, thankyou for sending me the info from your carfax report, I have researched this and found out from the previous recorded owner in the USA that it was deemed flood damaged as it was on the owners drive and the rain was very intense and the storm drains backed up and caused the water to rise above the wheels temporarily which deemed a pay out to the owner, the challenger is perfect and if your interested in taking a look let me know."

He hasn't amended his advert to show this info, feel sorry for whoever ends up with this, as water over the wheels, can't be good. If that is genuinely all that happened.

If it was that minor it would have a salvage title.

The destruction title is possibly due to it being foul/sewage water.

The State of Florida will issue a certificate of destruction title when the damage ( collision, mechanical and/or flood) is equal to or exceeds 90% of the current retail value of the vehicle. This applies to late model cars worth more than $7,500 USD.

Typically these vehicles are sold for export or parts only. They cannot be legally re-registered in Florida or other states even if repaired.

So I very much doubt the sellers story of the black Challenger...buyer beware
