Hi,

I need to get some aftermarket fender flares over from the US. Its gonna cost me £250 quid if i get them sent direct to me from the shop, but the flares are only £380 to start with. The box they come in weighs 15lbs and is 57x8x30inches, but if they were taken out of the box would take up much less space. If someone knows of someone bringing a car over in the next few months and could bung them in, I could help contribute to their shipping fee? The flares are in California, and I am in the Midlands. This is something i know friends have done in the past, but I dont know anyone planning on shipping anything over anytime soon at the moment.

Regards,

Dan

Give Ron Fenton at STS Imports a ring.

He brings in a container once a month and rents out space in it.

I will be getting an exhaust sent from Borla. They are in California, too.

How do we contact The Ron?

http://www.stsimports.co.uk/ you just contact him, he will give you the costs, then have it delivered to his address in Florida, sit back & wait, you can then either collect from his warehouse near Chelmsford or arrange courier/post etc.

alternatively, I can probably get them delivered to my American forces mail box in cambridgeshire, but you'd have to come pick them up. you'd just need to find out if whomever you're ordering from ships APO.

Thanks for the details of STS. Not sure if it is going to work out any cheaper, though. I would need to get the goods shipped from Cali to Florida, then it would all come via container, and then would have to arrange a local courier here to get it to West London. There is also added disadvantage of lack of insurance in transit I guess? It is a shame. I want to buy a raptor style grille and bumper as well from Paramount Automotive. They are in Cali, too. Borla will not handle the package from PA, but they suggested I find a freight forwarder that would do it. STS are one of them I guess, they are just at the wrong end of the continent.

Most parts suppliers will ship to anywhere in the lower 48.

Makes no difference where they are or the parts are going to.

Many of the suppliers I've used even offer free shipping within the lower 48 if you are spending more than x amount, it's a no brainer unless you're in a hurry.
