Hi can you help, my crossfire has thatcham cat 1 so no problem with insurance companies, but with insurance renewal due on challenger in couple of months can any one confirm what category alarm the factory fitted one is, as last year a company would not offer insurance unless alarm was thatcham approved

Many thanks as always 🙏

It's not Thatcham approved as that only applies to UK anti-theft devices.

Flux offered me a choice of two policies, one with original factory security, the other (with marginally lower premium) if Tracker fitted.

I would go with a different insurance company. Try Classicline in Leicester. Very reasonable

Can we persuade some of you Challenger owners to come along to the Full Power Launch at Topcats Racing near Aylesbury on Sunday 3rd April?

Gulp! Is that for all of your cars or just your Challenger? If it's any consolation US insurance rates are just as punitive - and come with no explanation regarding continual increases.

I have lived here more than 15 years and have a completely unblemished record - not even a parking ticket. My premium goes up by around $100pa every renewal. When I ask why, they metaphorically shrug their shoulders and say, "Because of reasons".

Hi Matt, That's just for the Challenger which I think is mad, spoke to flux today and they said that's with equity red star and the next company that would cover it were over £1200, just cant work it out to be honest, my 66 Vette is £200 a year with agreed value of £65k, my 75 vette is £100 the 300c is under £230 the Harley is £200 and my Husqvarna dirt bike is £150 and all have dropped over the years except the challenger which is going up, clean license, no claims just weird, all I can think is if its due to claims against the cars ie if there is a high volume of them getting written off over here which to be honest I haven't heard of any, so back to the dreaded phone and ringing around, it went up last year and flux were still the cheapest.
