Evening all,

I am about to buy a Crossfire but thought I would ask a few questions before I do...

The car in question is a 2005 05 Manual with just shy of 52,000 on the clock. I am able to buy it for £2,750, which I think is good value for money. The car itself isn't immaculate, but it's a two owner car from new and the last owner for the last 9 years. It has part service history, but I have been assured it has been maintained correctly.

Is there anything in particular to look out for on them? I took it for a drive and enjoyed the drive... I appreciate it is a marmite car!

My plans are to replace the exhaust with something that allows it to be a little more vocal, and to reduce the gap between the arch and the wheels!

Any feedback on Crossfire's would be much appreciated.

Derided by many but I had several as company cars.

Being nearly six feet tall I could never get on with the manual and preferred the auto.

I like them. Great value for money. The interior is a bit plasticky and prone to wear and the sat nav is useless. Typical front edge bonnet corrosion due to mismatch of metal.

Other than that. Go for it.

Always loved them and at that price you cant go wrong to be honest, sounds like a bargain, have no experience of them but recall them being a little juicy for what they are

let's put it in slightly different terms - what else < £3k can you get that:

a - is relatively new

b - has relatively low miles

c - individual looks (yes yes yes it's ugly/looks like a dog crapping etc etc - however bland it is not)

d - reasonably reliable performance (no idea on the manual though as both mine were auto)

e - is likely not to have been fked around with by the barry-boys

Treat it like a GT car rather than a 'sports car' and you'll love it. We did over 2,500 miles in 2 weeks in mine and felt great afterwards, no bad back etc

I am pleased to report that I am loving having the Crossfire to drive around in. It always puts a smile on my face! Even with more powerful/better cars available, I still love to take it out.

I love the way it makes you feel when you are sat inside it. Being low down with the small windows makes you feel like you are in something special.

Very pleased.

Glad you're pleased with it, although these have never been that popular I've always thought they would be a good value rwd semi muscle car.

I don't know about the UK crossfires but know the U.S. ones are built by Mercedes and the srt6 engine was hand built by amg.
