Jeep Grand Cherokee Electrical problem

I have an 08 Grand Cherokee 3.0 CRD

about 3 weeks ago, I had a strange glitch while driving - there was some interference through the radio, then all of the dash warning light flicked on for a seconds, then all was fine

Then all was ok for a week. at which point, the indicators wouldn't work, the radio interference was intermittent, and full beam randomly flashed on for a couple of seconds

this then developed into 'clown car' esque behaviour, where the horn would randomly beep, the lights flash while driving

today, the car will start no problem, but nothing electrical works - no lights, no dash, no blower, no indicators etc.. BUT full beam is on all of the time, and the hazards randomly flash

the local garage have looked and are perplexed..

any thoughts welcome.

I'm sure i read that if your battery is not providing enough charge it can cause these issues on Jeeps.
