It looks like Newport Imports has gone the way of the dodo, as their website now 404s, so I am after some advice from those who have gone through the rigours of importing a US car on which companies are good to work with and which are worth avoiding.

I am looking at getting a new Raptor and I'm just wary of dropping nearly £50k on a motor via some Del-boy running a "business" out the back of a magazine, instead of getting involved with a reputable importer.

Any recommendations/places to give a wide berth?

Have you tried contacting them by phone, their other company website http://www.hybrid-car-company.com/company-info/def... is working, or PM Roo

fking hosting companies.

The hybrid one should still be live, they'll be getting an ear bashing in a minute. It was fine last night.

Alas, the Newport one is dead.

Market conditions have caused the diversification into the hybrid business.

Speak to either Ron Fenton at STS imports or John at Golden Chariots.

It was working when I posted the link.

Another recommendation for Ron, I haven't brought a car in with him yet but use him for larger parts & stuff from companies who don't ship outside the USA
