87 Wrangler, Lost keys. Lock replacement?
Discussion
Hi all,
Not my car, and not one I'm familiar with.
A friend has lost the keys to her 87 Wrangler. The car is unlocked in a garage, but the keys can't be located.
I assume she needs to get a new ignition lock/ corresponding keys fitted. It doesn't look horribly complex (http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/yj-ignition-lock-replacement-396709/) Jeep dealers aren't much use on a car of this age (and don't have records of the key to get a new on cut)
I'm assuming a competent mechanic could get it done quickly if the right bits were obtained? Is there anything I need to look out for if I help ordering the bits?
Located in Falmouth, Cornwall, on the off chance that anyone can recommend someone local to sort it.
Cheers
Felix
