Bring Parts Back On Flight?

I have holidaying in the States and may ask him whether he could bring a rear bumper back for me (I missed Ron's container this month). How feasible is it to check-in such a long and chunky item? Is the airline likely to refuse it or just charge a whopping amount?

Ive brought back front and rear sway bars ok.

Just check it into the odd sized luggage zone. As long as the weight is ok.
I took this instead of my check in baggage and told the wife to travel light.

Also torque converters, intake manifolds, cylinder heads (v8 x 2), disk brakes, front suspension arms etc. You get some strange looks, but Ive never had an issue.

Just wrap it up nice, it will look like ski gear

I brought back a zr1 splitter in a huge box, when asked at check in what it was, my reply of 'ex wife' went down so well
I wasn't charged (or cavity searched). Box was opened between leaving me and arriving in the uk
