Any US based Pistonheaders (preferably Eastern Sea-Board - but wherever really) - who can help me get an order in with a proper dealer (who won't try and gouge me later on) - or make any intro's ?? Appreciate it!

It won't be easy. Chrysler will not allow a USA Dodge dealership to knowingly sell a car that is going for export. They can potentially loose their franchise or face a $250,000 fine.
Ask me how I know frown

It's getting tougher and tougher.

Even one of the North American brokers I used to use has shut down recently due to supply problems.

you could try this company, they sent a new viper out to a PH'er a couple of years ago
and seem to able to get just about any Mopar vehicle

http://www.bjmotors.biz

they also have a great name, reliable service and are recommended by lots
inventory is stunning too

One of my mates flew out last week for a Hellcat viewing put on by Dodge in Detroit, I've just asked what they will cost

About $60k.

I'm on the fence. It's money I didn't really want to spend, but I'm tempted. I've got a half decent relationship with a local dealer after buying 3 vehicles off them so I'll ask next time I pass, probably tomorrow. They're based in Ohio.

I've (pre)ordered one from Central Florida Chrysler Jeep Dodge, in Orlando FL. They are not certain of the all-up price yet, but based on the spec, they estimate $58,000 + or - $2000, plus delivery, tax, tag and title - that didn't stop them taking a $10k deposit but guarantee that they will not hike the price, as long as I don't attempt to 'sell' my order.
There is no way on this planet that they would sell a car (any car) knowingly for export - their franchise would be revoked immediately.

If Bernie at BJ motors cant do it then give up, whats more if he can get you one its possible he can title it in Virginia where there is no sales tax which will save you a whole heap of cash too.

He works with Tomball dodge and viper exchange and between them they have to be one of the most important dealership networks Chrysler has for their top end cars, Tomball supplied the vipers that ran the n'ring, and have just worked with prefix to put together 10 special order roadster vipers. For Chrysler to pull the plug on them they would be seriously shooting themselves in the foot.

As Neil said, he shipped me my new viper, whilst one FL dealership told me to find someone in my hotel to buy a $100k car for me, another in CA was all talk when i was in the showroom but BJ Motors was the only one to actually complete the sale and the only one to talk to me via email and phone and without me ever setting foot in his showroom or even meeting face to face, so basically if Bernie cant get you one, give up and wait for a used one.

No luck this end unless you've got someone in the US you trust enough to buy it for you. They can get one no problem, but export is as Matt says.

Happy to help in any way I can. I'll even run it in for you if you like wink

I have no help to offer, only to say that buying one based upon that video alone seems to be a fantastic idea. (coming from an M5 Driver!)

Sods, they've only gone and stuffed the hellcat into a charger. 207mph saloon is pretty crackers.

Always preferred the challenger, but lately the chargers have been turning my head more. Must resist...

The Charger is not a good looking car IMO. The Challenger, well that does it for me. I watched a dyno pull where the digital speedo stops at 202mph but the RPM runs another 800rpm. 199mph against 204mph in our real world is nothing. I think the Challenger in the right conditions will see over 200mph. Just not on the M1. I'm hoping the order banks will open Monday. Tim the ceo said the order banks will open this month, we'll see. I really could do with something cheering me up big time.

The rumour is that the order book for the Hellcat will open up some time next week.

Dealers have been taking deposits on 'pre-orders' for nearly 2 months.
