To date I have been using a Wiltshire based company who specialise in very high end classic cars. My Pantera GT5 is now living in secure storage up here in London (Wandsworth) with the occasional weekend use as I wanted to take the car to a few events that it has been invited to.

My newly rebuilt Ford Cleveland engine is approaching the point at which I am going to switch out the oil from it's first 500 miles and change it, along with the filter.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for Central London? The other alternative is that I trailer the car down to Wiltshire but it seems a bit unnescessary for an oil and filter service.

Many thanks for your help,

Tom

With the greatest respect a Ford Cleveland engine is hardly rocket science and shouldn't present any problems for a competent mechanic if the filter is in a stock location - it will be a standard filter. You don't feel like doing it yourself?
If you don't feel confident I'm sure there will be people located reasonably close to you - can't vouch for them but there is the American Car Centre 20 Lettice St, London SW6 4EH ~ 020 7384 3044

Thanks for the message and whilst I used to be very happy stripping down my Datsun engines, I don't really have the time to get dirty and space is pretty retricted on such a low slung car. Am also keen that the servicing is done by a reputable shop, to keep up the impeccable service history.

Thanks for the steer to American Car Centre, alas they only do moderns. Really appreciated though, cheers, Tom

It might be worth trying to get hold of Colin Mullan in Feltham – hardly central per se but he looks after a lot of high-end american classics and american engined classics, his own car is a Monteverdi 375. He does a lot of work for the boys at C&SC that run americans. Got to be worth a shot.

OOOOOO, I don't think I've ever actually seen one, but it was the card to have for a certain Top Trumps set.

Pantera GT5 was Top Trump of my set. Hence the desired purchase since I was an 8 year old driving

Is that the same Colin Mullan as in the well known drag racer from years ago, used to race rapid Cuda's and the like.....??

Funnily enough, I just got back from Colin's place (he's 7 minutes walk from my house, I timed it once) - he's been working on my Challenger, and today got my Cadillac running really sweet. Yes, he's the ex drag-racer, I got him to autograph a couple of photocopies of him in some of his old cars!

He's a bit snowed under working on somebody else's Monteverdi at the moment (so he has two of them in his workshop at the moment), but his work comes recommended.
