Has anyone any experience of using a handheld tuner on a UK purchased American car such as a RHD Jeep or Chrysler? The reason I ask is I know these things work great on US cars with US ECUs but is there any issue with UK cars?

What's different about the ECU on a UK Chrysler to that of a US one?
I used a Diablo Predator flash-tuner on my US 300c SRT-8 and it made a very significant difference to the performance of the motor and the transmission.

Fair enough Matt but when I had a 5.7 hemi in my last truck the US seller stated it would not operate with export models. But, seeing as you`ve used one on an SRT (which I have) looks promising so thanks for the input.

Sorry, you lost me - I wasn't being an ass - just asking an honest question. I wasn't aware that the ECU's in these cars were market specific. My SRT was bought and run by me in the US, not in the UK - so I'm NOT suggesting there is no difference (though I don't think there is).
I bought a Diablosport Predator flash tuner for my car that was mechanically stock, except for a Zoomer full exhaust system. I retained the stock intake because it flows really well and I didn't want any additional intake roar on what was my daily driver.
The SRT is a better start-point than the 5.7 hemi - but I still think you could probably liberate another 20-25hp without any other mods. What that would relate to in on road gains is debatable - and vehicle dependent. My 300C with the tuner, exhaust, Strange half-shafts and drag radials consistently ran sub 12 sec quarters and 0-60 in low 4's - it was bad fast for such a heavy car. Biggest and most obvious change was to the shift points and aggression of the clutch lock-ups in the transmission. If your vehicle has Mopar NAG/5g-Tronic transmission, I'd thoroughly recommend a Predator.

Cheers.

I have the 5G in my GCSRT8 but again, apparently the Trinity or Intune doesn`t really make much difference to the shifting according to Diablosport and the users. I had a Predator with my Mustang GT with the 4r70 auto and it made a night and day difference which really, to be honest is why I bought it. I think I`ll just go ahead and buy the tuner anyway, if I don`t expect much from the canned tunes I won`t be disappointed. I`ll sort myself out with a mail order tune when I buy some bit and bobs and go from there.

I've used a Diablosport tuner in my UK spec Chrysler 300c (5.7) - an original Predator, and then upgraded to an InTune (bought from the 'states. No issues with either, and definitely an improvement.
