When you say the handbrake isn't sticking, have you disconnected the cables - these are a real problem on the Mustang.

The sliding calipers are either sticking on the pins or the caliper pistons are sticking.

The caliper pistons are phenolic and eventually swell a little bit.

The only option is to take everything apart, clean it up and try again.

Hi
Why is this different now compared to before ? can only think the piston is now further into the bore because of the new thicker pads , and maybe that area of the bore isn't used to having the piston contacting it ,might have been a bit gummed and now , like Adam has said is making the piston tight .
I would stamp and push on the b/pedal while someone else spins the wheel, kinda up/down on the pedal should relate to the wheel stop start , I`d like to think that would tell you if the piston is seized or not.

My drivers side rear let me know something was up when I got out and walked past the rear wheel the heat coming off that was unreal , well that and the blue disc lol.

That piston was a real b to get out ,clean as best I could and it lasted about a week and was doing the same thing again . I replaced them , think I still have the old ones if you want to play with them or you need them for cores while yours are still on your truck.

Be interested what you find out mate.
Think my fronts might be going the same way , seem to need more and more force on the pedal these days , and sometimes notice the rotors don't look that clean after a local drive .

Anyone know if the front calipers are all the same on F150`s or are the lightning ones unique ??
Cheers bud.

Lightnings have bigger brakes on front than standard f150's

I believe there same as an f250 as I have front pads that fit both but not my f150

They do suffer with the calliper pistons seizing and sticking I recently
Overhauled mine with new rubbers and re greased the pistons

Cheers bud , might take them off and get rebuilt ones when on holiday in Aug .
Or if I find they might take up space for more important stuff (N02 kit ) I might just get
a l/r caliper rebuild kit lol.biggrin

Hey mate
tousleyfordparts@live.com , great guys , I paid $290 shipped for a pair ,can get that down if you send the cores back lol but that kinda doesn't work eh.

Might be able to dig out the part numbers if I can find the invoice .

Seems they changed their name https://parts.autonationfordwhitebearlake.com/

Just to let anyone know whos interested, fitted calipers and the rear brakes arent sticking on now, allthough they still get fairly warm, maybe thats just due to new pads and discs and they take a while to bed in,,smile
