Is An F150 Classed As A Commercial Vehicle For Tax Purposes?
Discussion
I have always assumed that a yank truck (i.e. a more modern F150) is deemed to be a commercial vehicle by HMRC meaning that VAT can be reclaimed on it's purchase as well as fuel.
However, my mind has now been placed in doubt as HMRC have stated that any double cab (which I believe includes Super Cab's) pickup under 1 tonne payload is not classed as a commercial vehicle. F150's are half tonne pickup's (but have a payload of circa 700kg?).
I know a few of you use your yanks for business purposes, but do you claim all relevant tax and expenses back against them as well?
