Hi, just curious as id seen on DVLA enquiry that my Dads old Trans am was still on the road but now fitted with a 6.6.
He bought it in, I think 1982, from Mill Hill/Hendon area to replace a Jag XJ6. It was a Special Edition with the wider alloys, gold dash etc and it was quite a sight back then in Milton Keynes.
Heres a couple of photos from about '84 . He sold it the year after, to emigrate, to someone with a 2.8i Granada MK2.

Well, DVLA says the last time the vehicle was taxed was in April 2007, so pretty unlikely it's in any kind of road going state now. Not SORN either which is not good news
Could be stored in someones garage in pieces awaiting restoring, or more likely it was scrapped... frown

No, we lived on Eaglestone at the time. There were a few American motors in MK back then and another bloke had an Aussie Charger that I liked. When my family emigrated in '85 to Australia my Dad bought a Chrysler Charger Hemi.

Interesting, I never knew the Trans am had a Straight Six option?

I used to have a 76 Chevy Camaro, 3 speed manual, straight 6 with a single carb. Sadly that car ended up on the scrap heap due to bodywork rust frown

I Remember Trans am's having a stonking great 6.6 ltr lump

The E49 straight 6 was a Hemi and quite potent. Valiant Hemi Chargers are very sought after.

Im sure i almost bought a RHD V8 Chrysler back in the late 70's, I recall the rear screen was a small "notchback" (recessed), it had white high back front seats, im sure it was a 2 door

when i wnt back with the cash it was gone so i bought a vauxhall viva

in my defence id like to say the Viva was a 2300cc twin carb pre-Magnum sleeper....
