To be fair to Chevy Europe they don't seem to claim to be American.

It's certainly no worse than the German brands with their cars built in Belgium/USA/Mexico/South Africa for the UK market.

(or the Korean cars built in Slovakia biggrin )

Well they sure gave that their best shot /s

What now for the Daewoos? Will the brand be reintroduced?

What a shambles.

Always undermined the Camaro, Corvette et al. Stupid badging with no link to the brand.

They should've given themselves a different name.

Bit of a bummer for those building BTCC cars from a Chevy Cruze.

The Same cars are available in the US and don't hurt it there. Given the Camaro and vette were due to be made in RHD it sort of leaves Vauxhall to decide if they would want the cars in their line up.

For someone of my age with memories of US brands in 60s and 70s I always felt the introduction of the Chevrolet range in the UK would be a disaster. Most people can see through the veneer of a famous name badge glued onto a bland cheap car. Whilst Chevrolet is a mainstream brand, albeit with a long heritage, the association is with Camaro, Nova, Impala and Corvette (although I am not sure they bore the Chevrolet name at all times). Badging Korean cars just undermines the famous brand.
