Any views on waterless coolant in a 383 Chevy getting overheating in traffic through heat soak

Heat soak from what ? Its good stuff, but wont stop the overheating at idle, just stops the cooling system pressurising as it doesn't boil till 180 deg C, sounds more like you need a more powerful fan and/or bigger rad. Have you tried water wetter ? that WILL reduce the coolant temp by about 5 deg IIRC

Hi there I've put 1 n half bottles off water wetters in car it holds 18 litres off water I was considering xtra fans to draw heat out also cheers for answers

PA healthy small block shouldn't overheat at idle. In Arizona. In July. With the AC on.

What sort of car? How long doesn't take to overheat? I'd be looking at a radiator clog or a bad fan clutch.

Hi bill the motor is rear mounted in a ultima with a pro charged supercharger pushing over 700 hp it takes about 10 mins on tick over but iff I remove the engine hood the car is fine no problems so I'm viewing it as heat soak from the xhaust manifolds was looking at Evans coolant to help ease boiling over
