my brother runs a 2007 Chrysler Grand Voyager 2.8 Diesel for airport runs, its done 80k miles, owned for 2 years with no problems, but recently has started cutting out without any notice! if he leaves it for a few minutes it start ok but then cuts out 5 mins later

Local garage cannot find what problem is (he's been told its to do with the fuel heater on part of the fuel filter which he has replaced) and local Chrysler dealer is no help - anyone heard of this problem or how to sort out?

If voltage drops too low the ECU cuts the engine and transmission out.
( I found out in Lane 3 of the M4 one evening)

It's one thing replacing the filter housing but it needs to be replaced by a later redesigned part for it to be an effective repair for that issue( electric connector pin burns out and lets air into diesel).

The solenoid on the back of the high pressure pump sometimes causes issues and their not cheap either

Bar that check for fuel/air leaks worst come to worse get the diesel injectors whipped out and tested

Bit difficult to guess without seeing the vehicle though

Thanks for your replies - he had a new filter housing and improved wiring loom fitted but cuts out on idle (runs bit better with revs)

can you recommend anyone or garage near Stevenage? obviously he's loosing work as he cannot risk it at moment.

See what I've posted already, check the file filter housing heater plug to see if it's burnt the pins out
