The real trick to pull off would be to score a 390 cu in powered version - arguably over engined by some - same engine in Mustang (390GT) makes big bucks!

Looks a decent car for the money, but whats happened to the dash top? surely thsts not the result of sun damage?

How have they imported, registered, MOT'd it and put 4 new tyres on and STILL made a profit? Must have been dirt cheap to buy stateside.

I thought it would fail the MOT on sequential lights too

I know a little bit about these. Have a look at my profile. I'll do a proper post later as I've got to get to work.

Right then, The Good. As already been said, Mechanically it's pretty much all Mustang underneath. Which means it's all fairly simple and easy to work on and parts supply is very good, From cheap pattern parts, to Genuine bits and go faster stuff. It's a sensible size too, about an inch shorter and an inch wider than a current Mondeo. They can be picked up a lot cheaper than the equivalent Mustang and are better equipped.
The bad is that a lot of the Body and trim parts are very hard to come by. You'll not get a bonnet anywhere, nor wheel arch mouldings. Lots of other fiddly trim bits are the same and although second hand stuff is out there it's expensive. Vacuum light covers and sequential indicators are cool while they work but can cause problems, Modern conversion stuff is available. Another thing to consider is the reverse tardis effect, There isn't a lot of space inside for rear seat passengers and the boot is mostly full of spare wheel.
Personally i'd say buy one, but get a good one. Mine sits in city traffic, cruises in the outside lane at 85 and wallows about like a boat on track and doesn't miss a beat. (It's currently dead, Mostly my fault and easily fixed if I ever get a chance) No one knows what it is and there aren't another 10-20 at every show you go to.

The white car on Ebay claims to be a '68. Which means it should be a 302 not a 289. it also doesn't have marker lights on the front wings. I'd say it was a '67. It also seems to be missing it's stainless trims from around the grille and tail lights. Wheel arch mouldings and the I.D. plate from the drivers door. The interior looks pretty tired too. I'd check the wipers for play as they look a bit uneven and that is an arse of a job to sort.
Is the paint on it dry?

Has that put you off?

This is a buyers guide made by west coast cougars, I've had quite a few bits from them and they're really good to deal with and they know what's what.

The trouble is there is very little difference between the 67 and 68. I'd say it's just a mistake and it's a 67.
You could decode the vin and find out. The data plate can be bought, it's just knowing what should be stamped onto it.
