93-97 Camaro V6 Purchase?
Discussion
Hi guys, I am thinking of buying a Camaro V6 as they seem pretty cheap now. I used to have a 94 Trans Am with the 5.7 V8 (which I loved) but that was in Australia and fuel was a lot cheaper which is why I am considering a V6.
You seem to get a lot around for 3-4k. V8's are around 5+ for good one.
Any one have any thoughts? What should I look for?

dude the thought is ignore the boat anchor and go for the V8 - the 6 is better on juice but not to the point that it'll make up for everything else (unless of course it's had a Grand National or Cyclone engine thrown in!). IIRC the 6 return MAYBE 2/3mpg more but feel barely adequate for the job. In fairness the newer V6s from GM/Dodge/Ford with 300 odd bhp do feel a LOT more lively but then they're out of budget

Is it really that bad? I have found a nice on for under 2500 and it looks really good. Will I really be sorry at that price?
No, it's not that bad. If you've found a solid Camaro that hasn't been abused and that has been taken care of well then you will end up with an awesome and unique car for very little money. However, you may be sorry later that you didn't hold out for an 8. BUT if you look after the 6 I bet you could sell it on for not much less (and maybe even more depending on any mods you undertake)than what you pay for it so you could always make the move for an 8 at that time.
Just keep in mind that the 6 and 8 are very different cars in my experience. Both are awesome, one is just a lot more awesome. Hope this helps.
